Is it free?
Designing and the 3D preview are always free. To download the files, log in to your LayerBit account: the first 10 days of downloads are free (they start with your first download), then it is ₹49 for 30 days of unlimited downloads (no GST). Buying again adds another 30 days.
What is the difference between the two styles?
Front lip: each letter has a thin ledge on the front edge, and the acrylic face drops in from the back and rests on it. Open shell: just the walls, open on both sides, so the acrylic fits inside the walls or sits on top of them.
Can the letters be closed at the back?
Yes, pick a Back: Open leaves the back open (to fix the letters straight on a wall or board). Back lid gives every letter its own flat lid that presses in from the back onto a thin ledge, so you can still reach the LEDs inside. Closed prints the back together with the letter; the acrylic face then drops in from the front onto a ledge inside the letter, and the letter prints back down without supports.
How do I print the lip style?
Print it face down, with the lip on the print bed. The 3D file is already turned over for you, which is why the letters look mirrored in the slicer.
Which file do I use on the laser cutter?
The SVG (or DXF) is drawn at real size in millimetres with red hairline cut lines. Import it at 100% into LightBurn, RDWorks or your laser software. Choose “Inside the walls” to cut each face a little smaller than the letter (the acrylic gap), or “On top” to cut the full letter outline.
Can I use my own fonts?
Yes. In Chrome or Edge on a computer, tap “Use fonts from my computer” and pick any font installed on it. The font is read in your browser only. Please check the font's licence before selling signs made with it.
How big can the letters be?
Each letter is printed as its own part, so the whole sign can be much wider than the printer. A single letter has to fit on the 250 mm print bed.
Can LayerBit make it for me?
Yes. Tap “Want us to make it?” and send us your design on WhatsApp; we will print the letters, cut the acrylic and quote you.
